Bit of a ****ty thing to do to record him. Don't see the big deal in a footballer having a few drinks when the season is over.

No fan of Gibson, but that fella was clearly trying to wind him up and I imagine a lot of other footballers would be giving it the Bertie Big Balls **** in response.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

When was it filmed though? We're well into pre-season, when every day is about giving your all to get fit. Anyway, isn't the problem less about that and more about the fact he's done as much whilst saying other players at the club don't give a ****, ****ting on specific teammates?

Just reinforces Mourinho's safety first approach imo.

I take your point and it obviously is a bit hypocritical slagging off teams mates for not caring, while allowing himself to get into that state (again depending on when in was recorded).

However, despite your views on whether he should be in a bar or not or if a professional footballer should get that drunk, the fact is he is and he’s completely f*cked. So considering the state he’s in, I think he’s handled himself quite well. They intentionally recorded him and asked him leading questions to try and get him to say **** and get into trouble. Being as drunk as he was, they could have got him to say anything, but the fact that the worst they got out of him was that a few players don’t want to be at the club, I hardly think is a big deal and it makes them look more like ****s than him for trying to get him into ****.

I dunno man, when I get ****faced I don't volunteer that I work with too many people who don't give a ****, then when names are suggested to me say "there's one" quickly adding "next one" when other names are suggested! Then again, I don't think that of my colleagues, so of course I wouldn't. It would be rubbish to suggest it's all 'just the drink talking'. Were the people filming it ****s to do so? Yeah, absolutely. Doesn't help Gibson any though. Him being right, on the other hand, might

Darron Gibson: Sunderland midfielder faces action over video criticising team-mates

Sunderland have confirmed Darron Gibson will face an internal disciplinary process after he was filmed appearing to criticise team-mates after Saturday's 5-0 friendly loss to Celtic.

Midfielder Gibson, 29, has been at Sunderland since joining from Everton in January, making 12 appearances.

"Darron Gibson has not conducted himself in a manner befitting Sunderland AFC," a club statement said.

"We will initiate our internal disciplinary process."

The statement added: "Darron has apologised this (Monday) morning."

In the video, which was filmed in a bar by supporters and posted on social media, the Republic of Ireland international described the team as "s***".

He also claimed certain team-mates "did not care" about playing for Sunderland, but maintained he was committed to the club.

Sunderland, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, begin the 2017-18 Championship campaign with a home game against Derby County on Friday.

He should never have said he cared about the club.

                                1-0 to Chelsea anyway.
