Why would we transfer €15m without signed paperwork?

Conversely though mate, you could say that why would they sign the paperwork without the €15m?

I'm no accountant and I have no idea how this all works, but maybe there might be some sort of holding account that is activated by the signing of the paperwork? Like I say I am no accountant but there must be something in place for these big deals otherwise every one would end in stalemate.

It seems to me that using the Echo as a guideline, we have done all we could to get the player in, as Brendan is probably alluding to.

i think normally it goes to the lawyers representing the club and then the funds are transferred over to the club. that way the money is legally covered so if they wanted the money secured prior to signing this is the way it could have been done.

My business sometimes involves multi-million dollar transactions

I could not foresee a time when I would send funds for something without a signed contract of sale

With money-laundering regulations in the UK banks are now asking us to submit an invoice and contract as verification of what we are actually sending money for

Its the same when you buy something like a house, you draw up a contract all parties sign it and the deal is completed when funds are transferred

The claims and counter-claims from both sides (us & Dnipro) make little or no sense

Yeah it all makes little sense to me either way and I doubt the truth will ever come out. It'll be interesting to see what happens if we or another club go in for him in the summer though.
