Some people were suggesting that £7m for a youngster like Ilori was not significant, but if the stumbling block with this transfer is a lack of money up front then I'm sure the odd £7m here and there spent on fringe players would be quite useful right now. Even half of that money spent on a fringe player might be all that would be needed to seal a deal. I know we don't know anything really , but I think money is tighter than some would believe.

The 10-13 million that went on Alberto and Ilori was not the best idea IMO. Not exactly wasted but it didn't go on our priorities.
