His agent must be looking for silly wages....
However, you would like to think that a deal could be reached whereby we give him a signing on fee of, say £1m, at the start of every season and then pay him something like 65 / 70k a week as well.
Considering he is on a free transfer, i am shocked that he hasn't been signed by anyone yet.
To be honest, he would be worth signing just to piss the Dnipro club owner off after he passed up on the £12m or whatever and blocked his transfer deadline move 18 months ago.

I suppose it depends if we need that type of player. At the moment I'd say we don't since we have Sterling, Lallana, Markovic, Ibe & Coutinho. Not to mention countless youngsters in similar positions who did really well last season.Originally posted by SB View PostYou think on a free we'd be in for him regardless

If we get him on a free & he's better than lets say Markovic or Lallana, we could sell the inferior player in January for a fee yeah. And that's assuming Sterling stays & hits form again. We should be all over this.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI suppose it depends if we need that type of player. I think certain players have to be bought at certain times. Maybe 18 months back we had a feeling that if he came & kicked on we'd have a quality player, but maybe since then he's stagnated and not worth the bother.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostIt's the choice of clubs he seems to have that's the thing, does no decent sized club want him, to the extent he'd consider Stoke ?
Did we nearly waste another **** load of cash on him, and were saved from ourselves by a greedy agent?!
Personally, I think he looks to be worth a punt. Star man in a team that reached the Europa final, I think he's shown he's ready for the next step. Even when clearly known to be a bit one footed and despite being the teams main focal point, he still starred. Sign of a good player that imo.Forwards.......

i agree. i would definately sign him.....and yer man Yarmolenko as well to be honest....
in reality we aren't going to be able to sign Reus.......so someone like this is the next best thing - a talented player, who has the potential to get a lot better, and is available on a free transfer - so if it goes tits up then we can get our signing fees back at least!!!
For me it is a no-brainer. I can see him going somewhere like Newcastle and then turning out to be awesome and going to be a £27m squad player at Chelsea or City.
