Its always been the case with foreign players. The lure of the capital. One of if not the best in Europe. Thankfully its one the reasons that Utd didn't sign a host of the top names over the years.Originally posted by SB View PostSo he's another one who's being lured by the bright lights of London.Always borrow money from a pessimist. Verified by a mod on rawk. Make of that what you will....
Before I go any further, I want to put into context my connections to Yevhen Konoplyanka. A number of mods are well aware of my background and I’ve had their permission to start this thread.
Some time ago, I managed a team for a short while that had Yevhen Konoplyanka on their books. I can’t take any credit for signing him as he was pretty much a complete unknown at the time. The guy who did sign him was bold enough to tell me he would be a better player than Kenny Dalglish.
The match in which he really showed me his potential status in the game was actually his debut. We were losing going into the final minutes of the match and not looking like changing the result. I decided to pull off the star of the team (a number 10 who was regarded with Pele-like adulation by people around the club) and bring on Konoplyanka. It was a decision that baffled everyone watching, and I could hear people asking “Who?” as he made his entrance. He went on to completely change the outcome of the match and we won from a seemingly impossible situation.
I messaged my old friend a couple of days ago to say I hoped Dnipro get through their Champions League qualifiers as it’d be good to see them play at Anfield. The reply caught me by surprise… “You might see me in Liverpool before then!!!” When I questioned him, he said, don’t worry, it’ll all come out in the next couple of weeks.

I fancy most Dnipro players will be looking for an exit route given the current **** in that area. After all football players always look after number one. Who'd want to play in a club where a civil war is being fought?Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI fancy possible interest if Dnipro get knocked out prior to the group stages. Otherwise, it's a non starter.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield
