Thanjk you.

As many said it's midfield which should have been addressed this window but it wasn't. However for two windows in a row Rodgers has wanted to address the attacking third and yet it still hasn't happened. The pre-prepared interview was an embarrassment. If there are no changes to the committee in the summer I will be astonished.

I've just had another read of the article that we conveniently put on the site just after the window closed. It really does smack of papering over the cracks. I wonder when the interview was prepared?
On a serious note I really do feel for Rodgers. As I've said before he is blameless in all of this.
ah well. at least we have alerted all the major european clubs to the potential and availability of this guy. it could be a nice auction for him in the summer
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
That we'll spend months talking, talking and talking to clubs about Sarb and still come up short
Marcus, do you honestly believe our first bid for him was his release clause amount? I would hazard a guess it wasn't
Said before that this not overpaying strategy will not attract top quality established players imo. It will be bidding a price then relying on the player to demand a move. Only it doesnt really work when you are negotiating with a billionaire
Think someone said Spurs wanted him at beginning of window. We bid more for him than we did for Salah. And I dont think Konoplyanka was a summer target brought forward to this window hence the bid being higher. No logic in our approach really
Hope there are some changes in the transfers set up. Not sure if there will be
Bottom line, in two transfer windows we've failed to land any of our top targets and yet have seen fit to publicly promote the fact we were talking and negotiating with all of them. Two things need to be done before the summer:
1) don't brief anyone on targets except those involved in the deal (press included)
2) figure out why our current negotiation process isn't working - whether it's Ayre or not - and agree some actions to fix it
Wouldn't it be nice to see a few new but recognisable faces in red shirts at a press conference at Anfield in the summer - and that's the first time we had them mentioned in the news
Still need a left back. Still need a midfielder.
Had a month to sort it and yet our main man was working at 2am (local time) on the deadline day to get a deal done. Seriously poor time management
Its annoying because this really does feel like one of the times you should seize the moment,we could capitalize this season but instead once again we decide not too. Could it be purposeful they go through the motions of deals to keep fans believing we have ambition and just wait for the clock to tick down? The same happened in one of Kenny's January windows and last summer was a farce too, nobody is this incompetent. It's starting to seem that the club just don't want to spend.
I'm hugely disappointed because this year we have a real chance and if we miss it, it not only sets us back but we will probably lose Suarez, we should be showing ambition while he is here and taking advantage of having the best player around. The powers that be at the club seem to lack ambition and just want good revenue streams a manageable wage bill and to use LFC like a savings account for their couple of hundred million and keep it nice and safe until its time to cash in. They're no gillet and hicks we are in no danger but I don't want LFC to just make up the numbers either.
Rodgers could go if this carries on. If he manages to steer us to 4th then more ambitious clubs will be circling. I can't believe that we're 7 points off the top in Feb, in dogfight for 4th, and the owners haven't supported the team. It defies belief. You would think that we will have a massive transfer kitty in the summer considering we have missed our main targets last summer and now in January but I won't hold my breath.
Of course if we end up making the CL all will be forgiven provided they buy CL calibre players in the summer and keep Suarez. I have full confidence in Rodgers and the team to go on a secure 4th place despite what the people running the club might think.
