Regardless of which way you look at it these two windows have been nothing short of incompetence from the club. If you're the owner of a business and you hire people to strike deals and time and time again fail on the big deals you would be asking questions of why it keeps happening?
Players agent also said this morning that "the English club is doing absolutely everything possible to get the deal done" which might suggest that the BBC+press consensus of an impossible owner to deal with might have something to it.
Either way, we'll be OK. Would have been nice but not catastrophic to fail to get him. Not like when we missed out on every single forward target a couple of summers ago and were left without a striker until New Year.
Again the club goes after a high profile attacking signing, makes their interest public and prolonged, and fails to get it over the line.
I know that there are different factors at play for all the various failed deals, but it smacks of amateurism. Counting Miki, Costa, Willian, Salah and now this guy that's five in the past two windows.
If the Mancs had missed out on a string of high profile targets in the same manner as we have we'd be having a good giggle at them.
**** it, this is like the 3rd or 4th year of this ****ing tripe.
We don't have the funds lads as simple as.
I know we don't want to overpay and I know the forum mods will come back like team managers and try and get us to look at the bigger picture and explain that none of us know what the **** is going is going on in the background.
Something we do know is that we're skint, clearly can't afford anything beyond 16 mill in transfer fees, can't negotiate with other clubs, get the piss taken out of us because of our name, are tight cunts and that we're not likely to finish above 4th.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Sometimes you just can't make a deal within the constraints your under I guess. But then you'd think you'd get better at identifying which deals to chase.

Not only are we failing to get these players in, we're letting the whole world know who we're targeting by taking far too long.
We've got less money than our rivals so we need to be smarter and faster and get these deals done quickly. Ayre should not be leading any more negotiations for players.

You'd think we were the only club who failed to land some of our targets.
