The defenders are not Englands strength on paper at least, the fullbacks (Baines excluded maybe) are not exactly defensively strong and the CB's hardly what you want going for the WC. Might work in Hodgsons limited formation of 4-4-2 if he goes with that.

Disappointed he took Lampard over Carrick. But think thats the only thing I would have changed. Probably Flanagan over Smalling. But that would be club bias, as Ive not really watched Smalling much.

Quite impressed with Roy Hodgson in that press conference, handled it pretty well. That 23 man squad is actually quite exciting and there's only Phil Jones' inclusion that I'd question although hopefully he'll get nowhere near the first eleven.
