I dont like to write players off so early, but i dont think Lambert will ever be a Liverpool player. He isn't even good enough to be our 3rd choice striker.

If he was 10 years younger - he would have time for improvement.

I'd expect Borini to move ahead, if he hasn't already, in the pecking order. Like against Ludogorets and West Ham, Borini was picked ahead of Lambert.

It's all about fluidity with our system, and the commentator rightly pointed out that with Lambert, everything slows down.

Still got hopes for him.

I think he was bought as a plan B striker for games like Chelsea last year when they sat deep and let us cross all game.

We then went and bought Ballotelli who can kind of do that.

Obviously Sturridge getting injured means Lambert's getting more game time at the moment but I expect once Daniel's fit he'll be used as a rare sub.

Borini's a better option for our style of play but in certain games when we're made to change our style of play Lambert is a good option. I still think he'll turn out to be a clever buy. Don't forget we only paid a couple of mill for him which was a risk worth taking.
