He's a decent player that is playing in an isolated workmanlike role.... that he cannot play. With 2 up top and an actual functioning midfield.. he'd be much better IMO.

Strange when he never believed in having a Plan B and couldnt get Carroll out the door quick enough. Strangely, Carroll would be pretty good in the style we are currently playingOriginally posted by G View PostDoesn't suit how we play best yet if you listen to James Pearce he was a player Rodgers really pushed for along with Lovren and Lallana. Why?

he wasnt often the textbook man up front/striker at southampton, other than when the ball went wide, freekicks or corners. more often, in open play, he was a bit deeper and held the ball/drew the defenders to him then played other people in.
southampton played a system that better suited the players they had. im sure we could emulate this with the lack of strikers but wealth of midget lightweight midfielders we have.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

With the speed/guile we could play ahead of him, it'd certainly suit his style of player much better.

Agreed. Though the shipping out of Carroll was more down to the club not being able to accommodate such an expensive player on the bench.Originally posted by Sarb View PostStrange when he never believed in having a Plan B and couldnt get Carroll out the door quick enough. Using the above example will show the idea the club has for Balotelli. If we signed a major striker he's out the door by the summers end.Forwards.......

He's the perfect cheap plan B bench option if we had the same strike force we had last season, the problem is we haven't and he's been thrust into a lead striker role asked to play in a way he is physically incapable of doing as he has all the mobility of a corpseKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Bump. His thread was relegated to page 4. I guess that says it all

An absolute fish out of water. His confidence has nosedived so much that he's forgotten how to even do that basics.
That tame finish summed him up, all confidence has gone. I wouldn't even have him on the bench at the moment to be honest. Poor lad, his dream move has turned into a bit of a nightmare.

He'll be gone in the summer. Only a rumour but I heard back in November time that he asked if he could leave in January due to a lack of playing time. He's since had a fraction more but he keeps making an arse of himself. Feel so sorry for him. He's clearly better than he's showing but at the same time I think this move has highlighted his deficiencies. I thought a nice little lower league ground might make him feel at home
...but he looked lost as usual.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
