No doubts Lambert is better in a two. Seemed to work very well with Jay Rodriguez alright. I can't see us selling him at the moment unless we've something else lined up.

Liverpool want to increase their forward options in January, not diminish them by allowing Lambert to leave so quickly, but attempts to advance Divock Origi’s £9.8m transfer from Lille, scheduled for the summer, are being resisted by the French club despite the offer of a premium on the fee.
I thought I read somewhere (Beeb gossip?) that Lille denied we'd approached them about bringing him back early.

Edit: In light of my post in the Origi thread I'm hedging my bets on this one!

Lambert/Balotelli/Borini should all be moved on this window if we get any good offers for them. Screw any ****ty loan offers though. Permanent deals only though should be on the cards.

Only if we get replacements in first. Classic Liverpool if we sell them and don't replace them, and then get a load of injuries

I'm not sure I can take another minute of Lambert up top regardless of the situation. Defoe is dog **** and I'd far rather have him on loan till the end of the season....

West Brom making a move for "Lambo" according to The Daily Star, reported by the Beeb. Mario's staying if that happens.

As we are into bumping player threads after the game I see no love for Rickie

                    Quality finish.

It was a nice finish for sure.

Who ever tipped him & Borini to score today would have cleaned up. Anybody?

It's that sort of impact we had hoped for when he signed. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come second half of the season.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Playing devils advocate here and on the back of the recent discussion about Balotelli, why does Lambert escape criticism for his performances as for me he's been far worse from day one? I haven't once watched Lambert this season lumbering around and thought he's put a great shift in today or thought he was ever likely to influence a game. Is it because he's English, it is because he cost £4m, Is it the romance of him coming back to his boyhood club?

Give me Balotelli every day of the week over Lambert.

A little bit of both of those. Plus I don't think he was ever supposed to be anything other than a Plan B, expectations were always extremely low.
