Lambert cost us £4 and seems to be happy to sit on our bench.

Can't compare the transfers at all.

Aside they are completely different players with different skill sets, Keane was also 28 when he arrived and he was expected to be a regular starter, which is not the case with Rickie at all.

Tbf none of us imagined how poor he was going to be and we all agreed he was an upgrade on Aspas. Disaster for the lad.

Simply wasn't what we needed. Had we managed to sign a couple of decent strikers and not Balotelli then Lambert as 3rd choice might have made sense but we didn't. He's more like someone who's won a competition to play for us albeit one that cost the club £4.5m.

Which, to be fair, sounds like the sort of competition we'd set up

I remember him being the first signing of the summer and trying to look at the positives (as you do) but it felt wrong at the time in the context of the football we were playing and they type of players that had already proved to be a success (pace!). I also strongly thought, at his age, after a summer break, you're never sure what you're going to get.

Saying all that, he genuinely seems like the nicest of blokes and it would be great if he could play some part in our revival but I would prefer it if it was off the bench in the last 15 minutes, tbh.

I have no issue with him being a Plan B when Plan A isn't working, the problem is our Plan A has gone to **** and he's become Plan A Not good.

He's better than he's showing and I thought he'd be a useful asset. Unfortunately he seems to be one of those who needs a run of games to show good form and he won't get that here.

Much better than he has showed at LFC. Would be nice for him to follow on the goal vs Palace and to get a goal tonight.
