Hardly a 'severe flaw'. Ref gives goal right away, so we all know it's a goall. Replay confirms it's a goal, albeit the Honduras fans got carried away before it was confirmed. Next time everybody will know not to make dicks out of themselves before the correct replay is shown.

It's severe enough as although it resulted in the right decision, it created an issue on the field of play, in the stadium and in the TV studios.
The PL system flags a goal.....that's it......no 'no goal' decision. More importantly the stadium report system should only report what the ref gets, and if he gets 'GOAL', there is no issue. Everyone's happy.

In a technology sense, there is only yes and no, but the communication system has broken down and created confusion. Just signal the goal to the ref and leave it at that. It's a different system to what is used in the PL, and despite FIFA showing it a ridiculous amount of times this competition, the very first time it's needed, the report out system in place has fluffed its lines.
