I suppose it doesn't matter to Barcelona really.

    £50m + Suarez

Is the same as £80m after selling Sanchez to, for example Arsenal for £30m. If Arsenal are pushing for a deal we should be demanding to speak to him first at the very least.

I don't understand why a footballer would choose Arsenal before us? I'm biased obviously, but Arsenal are stuck in a groove, they're perennial also-rans. We've struggled in recent years, but we're a team in the ascendancy - an exciting prospect for anyone with ambition. We have a great young manager and some awesome young players, incredibly passionate support, excellent owners and we live in a wonderful place too! Give me Liverpool or Manchester over London any day of the week. London is a stinking ****hole.

          For wealthy footballers ?

          More like a millionaires playground.

As for Arsenal, i think Wenger is well rated in the football world, and now it seems like they are willing to spend more, so maybe players see it as good time to go there ?

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I know some of you southern folk will scoff, but I wouldn't live down there! It's far too overcrowded for me. I love being up here. :-) There is nothing in London that would tempt me to move down there even if I could afford it!

Catch the train to London, stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway.

I'm northern!! Moved down to that there London town when I was 19, and actually recently moved down to the coast; literally moved as far south as it was possible to get without buying a boat

That said, I do miss Liverpool, though I wouldn't move back home or to Manchester. I've never understood the dislike of London from mates back home

Only ever been to London twice. Passed through the outer bits by coach on the way to Wembley, and passed through on the way to Heathrow via Kings Cross station without being remotely tempted to have a quick explore before transferring.

Can't say the place ever appealed

Sanchez's squeeze looks like she'd favour the bright lights of London

If that's a caravan behind her then I reckon she'd be just as happy in Talacre.

Depends where you are in your life. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, it's your own risk assessment. I love both but my circumstances make it right for me in London right now.

However, a foreign footballer will always pick London over anywhere else in the UK any day of the week without a super-duper financial incentive, it's a sad truth.

Not convinced about that, we landed Torres and then Suarez. Man City lured the likes of Balotelli, Yaya Toure and Aguero (I know you mentioned the super-duper financial incentive). I think we have more than our fair share of top foreign talent up here. I think most foreign players are just mercenaries anyway, but there's more long-term value of being a player for a northern club than a London club. They are genuinely idolised up here and they get to keep more of their money too for when they eventually piss off back home, Spain or wherever!

I certainly hope you're right and will cheer loudly if you are. Last year's performance will certainly help. And lets face it, with the wages they pay it's a small price to helicopter them up for each match if they don't like the neighbourhood
