Yep, but the standard of La Liga has dropped off somewhat.

They're not in as big of a mess as Madrid, but they are not the force they once were either. Messi is 32 this year too!

they are on a good run. but they are an ageing team, Pique, Messi, Suarez, Alba, rakitic and Vidal all are past the best ....Although the majority of them are still class!!!

If Athletico Madrid had more of a will to win games they would be top now imo.

Hopefully with Barca's best players all being the wrong side of 30 and Madrid on the slide massively we will see less players aspiring to play over there. We have probably lost more players to Barca and Madrid over the last 10 years than any other club in England so it would probably be beneficial for us!

Supposed to have won the race for De Jong also which is another injection of young talent to their midfield.

If loads of players are getting old, wouldn't the chance to make a name for yourself and establish your place make it more attractive?

The goal was great but you are right about Studge and Gerard’s (away to Marseille) getting similar strikes but.........it was another hat tick for like his 650th goal......he is a phenomenon.
