    Andy Hunter Guardian

Liverpool have completed their seventh signing of the summer after landing Javier Manquillo on an unusual two-year loan from Atlético Madrid. The 20-year-old defender underwent a medical on Merseyside earlier this week and has finalised a transfer from the Spanish champions that may allow Liverpool to make the deal permanent, for a fee of around £5m, should he settle in English football. Atlético can break the loan arrangement and recall Manquillo for a fee next summer while Liverpool have an option to buy the player outright in 2016.

    Neil Jones ECHO

The 20-year-old full-back will join on a two-year loan deal. Liverpool will have the option, at the end of this season, to make the move permanent for a fee of around £5m should they wish.

That fee could also be reduced, depending on how many games Manquillo starts during his time at Anfield.

Bit of a strange deal if what Hunter is saying is true. So, if he smashes it next season, Atletico can just take him back for a fee however we can only sign him outright in 2016. Neil Jones says something completely different.

      Welcome to LFC!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Good player it seems and bargain if we haven't paid anything yet! But it's only a friendly, so he must be ****.
          Are we winning?

Think he's just got himself a start for next week after that performance. Very impressive.

Thank you Javier for not being ****. So refreshing not having to worry about that position the whole game!

Henderson showing captain material today, really guided this lad through the game.

                            Really good on his debut.

Was at the game yesterday and kept watching him off the ball; his movement is very intelligent. Looked very assured on it too and good technically. Kept shouting for the ball too which was good to see, considering he's only just came here.

Some here think he was nothing more than 'ok'. I thought he defended well and attacked with intent. A great debut and confidence inspiring.
