Those people must have been watching a different game.

Behind Lovren you could make a case for him being MoM.

He was very good, got forward when he had the chance, showed excellent pace, and really concentrated on his defensive duties. He got loads of blocks in too I noticed. Very promising debut.

Gerrard was my Motm, but Manquillo was definitely more than just ok.

I thought he did well. He's very much a pass & move player, nothing fancy about him. Linked up very well with Henderson.

I will say that to me he was a little quick to dive in and commit at times. Needs to stay on his feet & stand his ground a bit more. This is very common in young players & you can see why a more defensive minded coach like Simeone let him go on loan.

But he looks ready made for Rodgers. If Moreno comes & impresses then I wouldn't be able to guess at our first choice full backs. Flanno, Glen & Enrique could easily find themselves as back ups as opposed to first choice.
              Forwards.......

He done well on his debut, showed great ambition to get forward constantly.. giving us that extra width. Still defensively naive but he's quick, good physic & technique.. the tools are there... bit of defensive coaching and hopefully he can adapt to the league.

                  Well done Mankini

Expecting Jose Enrique to make him his new best friend soon. Poor Suso, hopefully he can recover

There's no doubt at all that the lad deserves to start v Saints on Sunday. It's not like we're away to stoke on a cold wet night in December is it? We're at home in a match that we should win. Deserves a crack at it on his debut form.

Sterling for me. The amount of ground he covers is astonishing, and his defending is better than most full backs.

Yeah I'd have picked a few others before Stevie for MOTM Sterling, Coutinho, Lovren to name just a few. Manquillo did great too. Loves to get forward to support.

Lovren was MOTM, by a country mile for me. Imperious debut.
