He's a proper LFC player. He just needs to get his eye in is all.

All this sharpness talk sort of assumes he actually is a more reliable finisher than this in general. Take out penalties and his career record rather says otherwise.

He does some good things but let's not convince ourselves he can be a completely different player than he actually is. What we've seen so far basically is Mario, we just need to figure out how to play more to his strengths and get people beyond him. Until we can buy someone better anyway.

I think he's been one of our better players, obviously needs more time but is usually involved in positive things we do in the attacking end.

I see Brendan thinks he should've slotted the one that got pushed onto the bar too. I'm surprised at that. It wasn't a simple take so high up, but he got it on target. I'm not sure he had much opportunity to place it better. Maybe I'll have to look at it again before nailiing my colours to the mast any further.

My own first impression was he should've buried it but on the replay it does bounce very high, almost waist high and at speed he did well to get it on target. Keeper gets a touch too, so unlucky.

Mario is another hyped up **** striker like Keane, Carroll, Voronin etc.

Adds nothing to the team and actually detracts from it.

I think that's harsh, he worked hard today and was unlucky not to score. We do miss Sturridge though and at the moment the side just doesn't quite gel.

I have to say I wasn't sold on signing him and I've not seen much yet to say he was worth the apparent knock down price but it is very early in his career here. He works harder than I thought but still nowhere near hard enough. He needs time though and Sturridge up with him but as a one on his own its not been great so far.

I agree with the 1st part, he doesn't suit the style BR wants to play.
