You simply cannot manage in a country where you don't know the language imo. how are you supposed to communicate with the players? to understand who they are as people?

With foreigners who come to the premier league, most have at least a little bit of knowledge of english. The last one that didn't, Pepe Mel, bombed out miserably.

Pochettino always knew some English, that's how he communicated to his squad. he just chose to do his interviews in Spanish at Southampton because he was afraid the press would otherwise misinterpret what he was saying. Then Spurs made it a condition for him to do them in English when he joined.

As for shteeve, he's done well to master the basics
