Thanjk you.

It doesn't seem to be in his interest to tell us (at least until he has a firm offer). Perhaps he's been stringing us along but I don't really see it as a big issue. Or at least I don't see that we can know that we didn't do the best we could. The player has all the power in this situation.
What does courting in this context mean? If we really wanted him for that long why not buy him rather than Balotelli? My suspicion is that people are rather over emphasizing the effort we have put in on this deal.
Sending reps to watch him and speak to him for a year and a half. No reason to doubt Shaggy on that. He's not here and I'm not looking for reason. We can't compete for the best players in the world and now it seems we can't compete for those in the rung under that either given the targets in those categories we've missed in the last few years. I'm massively pissed off with our performance in the transfer market under FSG so far. We've spent plenty of money but we aren't spending it well. I'd love to wait until summers over to get my knickers in a twist but I have no confidence this summer will be any different so I'll just do it now
We've been sending a delegation of reps to watch him and talk to his people pretty much fortnightly for 18 months possibly even two years.
Sure United will have also put some spadework in but ffs. Same **** every time.
Where has this come from mate?
Were we linked with him 2 years ago? 18 months? last summer before the World Cup?
Genuine question because I don't know?
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

That's what I think as well.

The players we need to be signing are the odd ones teams like Villa, Spurs, Newcastle, Southampton, Evert etc got right, and then sold on to top clubs.
We need to be identifying and buying those players, which tbf just involves looking at who they bid for, and then pick the best. Seems to work for other clubs where we're concerned anyway.
Let's be honest, who in their right mind would join us rather than a more established top four side with more money, given the choice? Add the Dutch manager and lack of any affiliation to LFC and it's a no brained for the lad.
We're second tier, we don't get first dibs on players in demand.
Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
you'll see this summer what a catastrophic **** up last summer actually was; this was our chance to open a gap or at least keep pace with the mancs (4th of top 4 teams) & we wholeheartedly blew it. HEADS HAVE GOT TO ROLL, we are further away now than we were 2 years ago & are the new spurs (selling club). We have one, just one major asset in Sterling & he will be sold in the next 18 months; the future looks gloomier than gloom TBH
If you think us entering talks with a player gives us exclusivity to a deal, then you're definitely more naive than I thought.
This would have happened if our offer was on hold or not.
You are more condescending than I thought. What players have we managed to sign recently where there was any competition?
Lallana
Lovren
Balotelli
Lambert
Markovic
Moreno
Borini
Allen
Sturridge
Coutinho
We got a free run to sign them all. Where there has been any interest from other sides we invariably lose out, I'd expect it maybe most of the time but all the time. We take too long, and usually the targets then end up elsewhere, and IMO we don't seem to make players feel wanted, Barrett could have said that the deal was off or we decided to pursue other targets but he said that it's on hold, I think there is something to it.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

It's been reported in the national press and also a couple of journalists told me the same/verified it.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
