Barrett says the following
United were always getting him if they wanted him. There was nothing that Liverpool or anyone else could do about that. United gave the rest a glimmer by prioritising Bale but as soon as that changed and they decided to do Depay now everyone else, even PSG with all their wealth, was out of the race. Also says his agent flew him into England to meet us and United, not us flying him in and he reckons we'll go balls out for the best striker we can get and add the rest after that.We haven't missed out on Depay. We showed an interest and then went down other routes. Whether that's a good decision remains to be seen, although United were always his first choice as long as they wanted him.

2 weeks ago, to a man we were all shouting about "out and out" strikers and another defensive mid etc, no mention of a winger until we got linked to him by some journo. Since then it appears the world will now end because he signed for the Mancs.
If he was our number one target, Brendog will be sacked. I will be far more concerned if we lose out on strikers.

I don't think the players name matters, it's the fact we keep losing out on the more decent players we attempt to sign, that is what's frustrating, not the fact it's Memphis Depay.Originally posted by kev776 View Post**** me chaps, have we missed out on Messi?
