We haven't missed out on Depay. We showed an interest and then went down other routes. Whether that's a good decision remains to be seen, although United were always his first choice as long as they wanted him.

2 weeks ago, to a man we were all shouting about "out and out" strikers and another defensive mid etc, no mention of a winger until we got linked to him by some journo. Since then it appears the world will now end because he signed for the Mancs.

If he was our number one target, Brendog will be sacked. I will be far more concerned if we lose out on strikers.

I don't think the players name matters, it's the fact we keep losing out on the more decent players we attempt to sign, that is what's frustrating, not the fact it's Memphis Depay.

Slightly different spins on it there from James/Tony. Suspect Tony's is more accurate - I.E. we were interested but realised that an out and out striker was the priority and so didn't pursue it*.
