Lads watched Depay a lot this season and he is streets ahead of Babel, it's not even close. Sure United will get him anyways & we can cast a bitter gaze. Good times.

And yeah I totally agree. Rafa using salt and pepper pots to demonstrate his tactical ideas to Mascherano ....and sweet talking Torres. That stuff is definitely vital.

Also, for his faults, Brendan is a good and persuasive talker. He can use his NLP tricks too.

As soon as Brendan's fair hand graces the scalp of Depay it'll be true love and he'll have no choice but to sign for us in his trance like state.
        Hello mert.

Every single poster on here has said we need 2 things -
          1. Experienced, proven players. Winners, our squad is too young.
          2. Guaranteed goals, we haven't scored enough and Sturridge is injury prone.

So the point I'm making is that Depay doesn't 100% guarantee to solve either of those, the comparison with Ings is that he doesn't either.

Ings is 22, Depay is 21.
One has most raving, the other has most feeling meh.

As I said, Depay might be like Ryan Babel, he looked great at a similar age as well.
He might be the next Ronaldo.
He might be more like Nani.

No one knows so why all the raving over him?

How many goals do you think Sterling would score playing for PSV in the Dutch league?
I think Sterling would score ****loads and we'd all be very excited if we were linked with him, and rightfully so? I don't really see your point, who can we get excited over then, Messi, Reus and Ronaldo? even Di Maria failed at United, so bottom line is don't get excited over anyone

Depay isn't even meant to solve our goals problem alone, he's not a replacement for Sturridge - that should, hopefully, be someone else - he's a winger that happens to score a lot, but it's not his only quality, as opposed to Ings', who doesn't even really do that. Now you said that neither of them will guarantee goals, but at least Ings has shown that he can score here - maybe I don't understand English as well as I thought I did, but to me that looked at first like you see them as kinda equal or that Ings might even be a better option. I see now that you meant to say that both present a similar risk when it comes to their future, but I can't agree with that, I think Depay will always be miles ahead of Ings, simply because he's already so much better

Right now he is also much better than Markovic was when he signed, miles better than Babel, whom many people didn't want anywhere near the club when we bought him, and right now I can't think of many other realistic transfer targets that could be this exciting

I honestly think he is not what we need. We have Stirling and Ibe wide. We need to put every available penny and effort towards an out and out striker as our main number one target.

Get rid of Mario, Lambert and Borini for anything we can raise.

New Striker - Sturridge-Origi - Ings all in.
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

He can and has played up top this season and his goalscoring record is fantastic, he isn't the finished article and I get where you're coming from but Rodgers likes flexible players. Added to that out and out strikers with good goal returns are hard to come by.

I don't think Sterling is intelligent enough and Ibe isn't ready. Why should we not look to get better players in?

Ings is just not good enough.

Having a regular goalscorer in the wide positions also reduces the burden on the strikers.

Why look at easing the burden on something we don't have? First get the strikers striking before we worry about wingers scoring. Basics first.

It would be great if we made threads for players we had a chance of signing. This isnt one of them.
