It might have been the opportunity that United exploited - uncertainty over the management team allowing them to nick in and sign him.Originally posted by McDermotX View PostStill not 100% certain Brendan and/or the TC will be afford the chance to get things right in the close season.

Benzema & Lacazette wouldn't come near Liverpool at the moment. Champs League and big money is where it's at these days. It's frustrating people keep throwing these names around like we are a realistic option.

Guess we'll never know....well, if Brendan is moved on, I guess it's the next logical debating point. ....but I think all things considered, in a choice between ourselves and ManU, most top targets would choose the latter for a variety of reasons.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostIt might have been the opportunity that United exploited - uncertainty over the management team allowing them to nick in and sign him."I will make the boys feel your support"

Right...Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostYou know what, you're right. Lets just stop all this unsubstantiated speculation and rumouring. Its utterly pointless talking about stuff.
Infact, I'm going to evolve my social interactions beyond petty chat. From tonight, I'm just going to stare, spoken word and typing seems so primitive to me now. We need to get beyond the inanities of human communication.
I just think it's boring with all the negativity."Justice has been done."

Yes, it's just common sense really, you can't blame players for choosing them over us.Originally posted by McDermotX View PostGuess we'll never know....well, if Brendan is moved on, I guess it's the next logical debating point. ....but I think all things considered, in a choice between ourselves and ManU, most top targets would choose the latter for a variety of reasons.
I think the only thing we can offer is games, but I'm sure he fancies his chance of starting in that United team anyway, as they're garbage too.

****ing whingers. We've signed a striker that excelled at the World Cup, has scored a decent number of goals in an utterly **** side AND suits our style of play. We got in there early and he's not even 20 yet.
If he scores 10 next season it will be a job well done but if he bangs them in then I'm sure all this ****e will be forgotten about.
Besides, Depay might be **** for Utd like Di Maria is. Or he might sulk or tell LvG to go do one. Yeah he's a talent but there's plenty of them out there. Was muß, das muß.

The second most successful British club of all time by a mile...? currently, 9th biggest club in the world. I guess it depends on the scope of the tier.Originally posted by tanner View PostOf course we're second tier. Just because we finished second last season doesn't change that, it needs to be sustained success, be it in the form of trophies or CL qualification.
We offer none of that and will always lose out in transfers to Utd,City,Chelsea, Arsenal. We're second tier in a 4 tier league.
Ok, lets say for the sake of argument that we are second tier and we can only attract players like Carroll, Downing, Markovic etc...we still pay over the odds. So not only are we setting our sights low, but we're also overpaying.
The previous transfer committee was a cluster**** and this current one, I don't agree with their strategy and their approach. That's my opinion.
