I'm convinced that a significant proportion of a player's ability is in their head. Obviously they have to be fit and competent, but if you look at Ings attitude - it is spot on - try hard with moderate talent and you'll succeed. If you don't bother and you have great talent then Le Tissier aside I think you fail. If I were manager I would be as much interested in a player's mental capacity as I would be their technical capabilities. Forgive me Le Saux, but you know what I mean.
    Really?

No wonder they couldnt qualify with bums like him playing regularly! Nothing player.

He is a bit unlucky playing for this Utd side - if it were Fergie 5 or 6 years ago he'd be having a ball.

I still think he's a really big talent. Think Van Gaal stifles him.

I think that if he were in the current Arsenal team he would look a completely different player.

A lot of players in the current Manc set up look functional rather than as good as they looked elsewhere, take Mata as an example, but as we should well know players can be made look a lot worse than they are if the set up is wrong.

Chelsea right now are another example of good to really good players looking bang average to poor thanks to the set up/behind the scenes shyte.

Memphis for me is a player who is under-performing massively, but who has the talent to flourish under the right manger. Mentality does come into it, but I think with players a lot of the mental side of things comes right once a player buys into a manager's ideas.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
