We don't have a big enough squad with enough quality to take it and the league seriously and a league campaign will always be the more likely way into the champion's league then relying on a bit of luck to win a cup. United are ****, Chelsea are having a mare and nobody is taking the chance to punish them. If we can get our act together that's far more likely than winning this thing.

United clearly aren't ****, their boring as **** but their are solid and functional. Chelsea will inevitably click into gear & Arsenal & Chelsea are looking very strong. Also the fringe teams will certainly take points off the top sides a bit more regularly as the standard has risen.Originally posted by G View PostWe don't have a big enough squad with enough quality to take it and the league seriously and a league campaign will always be the more likely way into the champion's league then relying on a bit of luck to win a cup. The standard in the Europa League is much lower than the teams that will challenge for "top 4" in the premier league. The Europa League now has a great incentive to win, backdoor into the Champs League. It's great to have another option. I would much rather play weakened teams in the League & FA Cup and go strong in the Europa. The gains to win the Europa are far greater than the League & FA Cup combined. Sevilla have reaps the rewards of taking the competitions seriously.

To get top 4 or win the Europa we need to click and if we click there's no reason we can't get it through the league. The Europa is a lottery even if your the best team in it which we aren't. We can go as strong as we like in the Europa we still won't win it if we keep playing ****e so that's the main thing that has to change, not the players that get picked for it. Not too many of our "best" 11 have done much better than those lads did on Thursday.
And United are ****.Last edited by G; 19-09-15, 02:30 PM.
