Segregation wise, if LFC fans are buying up say 80% of the stadium's tickets, as they probably would have done, then true segregation goes out of the window at that point. The fans are already mixed up.

This evening it seemed that one set of people in a segregated area invaded another without anything in the way to stop them. That's how it looked anyway.
Regardless it's a ridiculous situation.

I reckon that even danperkins and I could sit next to each other in a football stadium without having a punch up. I'd hope so anyway. Maybe we'd need some earplugs though.

Plenty knew of the problems that could happen. I read about it back in December, plus a few mates who are out there we're talking it going bad last week. Luckily they were sensible enough to moderate drinking and get back to the hotel away from the trouble.

They did all mention that the police have not made it safer. They are treating everyone with the same degree of heavy handedness. So it's looking worse for that too apprently.

Not been talked about on here, but it's hardly an echo chamber for the wider public.

All of this epitomises everything I don't like about international football and why I've gone off it for a number of years now. The football is a sideshow for jingoism.

It's the innocent i feel sorry for, people over there wanting a family football holiday with their kids, a major football tournament, what is for some a once in a lifetime experience, turned into hell, because of a few nuggets who want to prove to other nuggets they're hard and hate.

I wonder if found guilty if uefa would have the guts to throw them out,Russia already have a suspended sentence after problems from euro 2012.the charges they have put to them today are for crowd disturbances and racist behaviour

Doubt it very much. French have got to come under criticism too, surely? Complete failure to control inside the satadium.

I know Russia and Poland had a bit of a barney at the 2010 (I think, possible 2006) World Cup. Are they anywhere near each other in the tournie? If the reports of the fights in Nice are correct that would be local attacking the Poles and Northern Ireland supporters.

Imagine the Poles and Russians together along with local French youths who are up for a fight!

I've just found out a friend has got tickets to Russia v Slovakia. You'd have to be mad to go, surely?

At least when England are playing locally you have relative safety in numbers but as an English fan away from the masses of English fans you'll be a bit of a sitting duck
