Lother matthaus in the itv studio just said if he could ask hodgson one question it would be why did he play players out of position against Russia.
    who's arsed?

Who was out of position? Rooney? I thought he played well - the only positioning issue was Kane taking corners.

        Sterling - pitch
        Lallana - pitch
        Vardy - bench
        Rashford - bench

Quite a few players were woefully out of position.

        Welcome to Woyvision.
        One tit for another.

I'd have swapped Stirling for Rashford and spring a surprise. We have so much pace on the subs bench but we opt for a clearly tired Harry Kane.

Liverpool man witnessed Russian thugs 'leave man for dead' in Marseille

A Woolton hairdresser described the moment a man was attacked by Russian thugs in Marseille before ‘leaving him for dead.’

Joe Tyrrell witnessed a man being brutally battered by Russian football hooligans on Saturday afternoon as Euro 2016 was marred by violence within hours of its opening game.

Shocking footage obtained by the ECHO’s sister site, the Daily Mirror , shows what happened when England supporters, said to be behaving peacefully in a square, were ambushed.

Mr Tyrell says that highly-organised thugs, who call themselves ‘Russian Ultras’, descended on the square wearing gumshields, scarves and black shirts and armed with crates of beer to launch at England fans.

He then watched as a man was knocked unconscious after being bottled before a group of 15 Russians kicked and stamped on his limp body.

He said: “They were out to kill people, there were five or six of them with crates or boxes of beer, unopened.

“They were passing the guys at the front bottles to go and throw and then they were heading back for more.

“The guy I helped took a full bottle to the face, he was covered in beer as well as blood.

“After he was out cold I saw 15 Russians kicking and stamping on his head as he was unconscious. They were even taking a run-up.

“It’s a miracle no one was killed - it really is. When we started dragging him away, I thought he was dead.

“It was just horrendous. They were hell-bent on causing as much serious injury as possible.”

The violence was so bad, a local restaurant owner had to set up a make-shift hospital in the square.

Joe said: “This lady was a hero - giving us towels, there was blood all over her floor. A French couple who’d been having dinner were treating people.

“There were two young Russian couples who were shaking and crying they were so scared they would get targeted by England fans in reverse.

“I said to them ‘Don’t worry nothing will happen to you’. It was like a war zone.”

The account comes as it emerged French police arrested 21 England fans for violent behaviour over the weekend – but NO Russians.

Those held include a 16-year-old boy charged over throwing bottles. Six of the fans were due to appear in court this afternoon.

One England fan Andrew Bache, 51, remains “gravely” ill in hospital as a result of being beaten in Saturday’s attack.

His family said he is no longer fighting for his life but suffered possibly “life-changing” injuries in the attack.

It is understood at least a further four fans, including the man in our footage, were treated for less serious injuries.

Around 150,000 British fans are travelling to France over the next two days for the hotly-anticipated Home Nations clash in Lens.

Russia have been handed a suspended disqualification from Euro 2016 over crowd disturbances at the game against England in Marseille on Saturday, Uefa has announced.

Charges from the governing body relate to “crowd disturbances, use of fireworks and racist behaviour” and any further incidents will see Russia disqualified from the tournament.

Or actually charging them, finding them guilty of the crimes they have committed, and locking them up might be a better alternative.
                        Oh I don't know.

These guys were organised, prepared and used to this kind of thing. Thank **** the Serbs didn't qualify although I read sth about their fans targeting one of the Albania games.
