Dumb question I know, but does the on field referee have to refer the a decision to VAR or can the VAR official tell the referee that there is an incident that should be looked at?
I have assumed the former, but if a referee doesn't see something how does he know to refer something so that doesn't really make sense. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment

Don’t forget we played Spurs in between. But with match refs, 4th officials and video assisted refs all coming from the same pool, it’s not unusual for the same individuals to be more frequently involved in some capacity against any given team..

shouldn't have refs doing VAR, just need someone with common sense, 20/20 vision & have watched football before........ the ref's will always back their mates, the VAR must be from a non-connected separate group (IMO); until they do this every team is going to get ****ed over.
Not that the ref's association would agree to it.......Comment

Even ex blue****e can’t deny it....yet Atkinson can.....I can’t believe that he has a bias against us but the evidence gets more compelling any time he officiated in one of our games

I had. To be fair, I'm shattered and halfway through a malbec.
Two back-to-back 2-1s after being 1down.
We should be putting pressure on the EFL to get this prick away from us. AF and Jose employed that **** for years.Comment

I've said this before about VAR but I don't believe that they have the ability to determine offsides to the margin of error that they are trying to do. And that's without someone re-drawing the lines.Even ex blue****e can’t deny it....yet Atkinson can.....I can’t believe that he has a bias against us but the evidence gets more compelling any time he officiated in one of our games

Yep, the club absolutely do a Fergie on him. And demand an explanation from PGMOL and The PL as to what went on in that video review where the lines appeared to be manipulated to make Bobby offside..

It's back to consistency for me, we've seen those types of decisions given for most of the season, but they got that one wrong
