Agreed. Effect of overuse for situations like this is worse than the underuse allowing some of these errors through.

VAR doesn't have to be perfect to be justified. It just has to be better than not having it.

Yep, it's bollocks. Either use it properly and let the ref with the clearest view ref the game, or **** it off.

Yep, it's weird, there's assaults not given reds, blatant pens ignored and pens for dives yet none of them getting over turned. It's like it doesn't even exist! I thought that was meant to be the whole point of it, to help with stuff like that that the ref didn't see or missed?! "clear and obvious mistakes"

At the moment it seems a waste of everyones time and money. There's genuinely no point it being there if its not gonna be used or they are too scared to say to their mate there was a mistake.

I heard this discussed on the radio briefly a few days ago, it doesn't seem to be posted in here (not sure if it is posted elsewhere) but PL referee chief Mike Riley says that VAR has got 4 decisions wrong in the opening 4 rounds of fixtures

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm not a fan of VAR but seeing as we are stuck with it I think that someone involved should be explaining to us (the fans and the football community in general) the workings of the system and why certain decisions were or were not over turned.

Using the penalty claim we had from the foul on Matip against Matip yesterday as an example, that was supposedly reviewed and VAR thought that it wasn't a penalty. I am fairly sure most of the fans thought it should be a penalty and the pundits and commentators thought it was a penalty, if VAR doesn't then we really need to understand why. Because clearly there is a gap in knowledge or understanding and someone with appropriate knowledge/understanding should be explaining it, otherwise it is left to pundits etc and when these things keep coming up more and more people will think VAR isn't working, if the FA and referees back VAR then surely it is in their interests to make sure than the football community also understands it.

                  Another stormer tonight.

Time for it to be binned. At least then we can just moan as we always have.

I can’t figure out how they are using it at all?

It’s a waste of time. Just rewards the diver, the only way there was contact was because of the dive.

I can see why they've given it. Other camera shots shows Robbo hit him. The clearer one shows he was falling well before hitting him.

Ah well, serves us well to lose concentration in important moments. Can't do this in Europe. It's tough.

Can’t stand it. I just don’t understand the process behind it.

If it’s not going to correct decisions like that one tonight or the one we should have had against Newcastle, then just bin it.

People moaned about it being used too often and that it should only be for absolutely clear things. Now they've rolled it back, people are getting upset about it not being used enough and it not mattering how obvious it is. Inevitable. Nobody likes change. Doesn't need ditching just needs tweaking.
