The lower leagues shouldn't have to suffer their incompetence.Originally posted by Scratch View PostWith VAR, if they get it wrong, is there any repercussions on the officials? If not, there needs to be. Something like 2 mistakes in a 3 month period and you're demoted to a lower league, that sort of thing? At the moment it feels like they are all a bit too 'safe' in their jobs, knowing that even if they do **** up, nothing will happen bar week off from officiating?Football without Origi is nothing

Just watching SSN on this and you've got Gallagher unsurprisingly defending the refs saying they're doing what they've been asked.
For me, the officials have lost their way massively and rather than focus on doing the best job possible spend an inordinate amount of time trying to enforce petty and pointless directives; the lack of common sense or any sort of awareness that they're actually a large issue with the game at the moment is mind blowing.
How many piss poor decisions have their been this season already but let's focus on the stuff that adds nothing

Murphy and Shearer completely missing the point on MOTD.
Murphy- "Ultimately they lost because of poor defending".
Shearer- "If he's closed down he has to kick long, that decision doesn't take long".
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I see in Crook's piece on the the Beeb, he is complaining over the award of a penalty in the Spurs/Arsenal game, saying it was never a pen? I know it wasn't intentional, but the arm was raised and the ball was going in if not the 'save'. Should that not be a penalty then, if it stops the ball going in, accidental or not?
