Think about it. Refs make 70 grand A YEAR. There are billions in the game in the PL alone. There are MASSIVE crime and betting syndicates in the world. I once read an amazing article, I think on Der Spiegel years ago, about "The Mafia Don" of match fixing. Operates out of Rotterdam, fixes European games in all sports for the massive gambling market in Asia, Singapore, Hong Kong, you name it. Any game could be bought.

And the most valuable league in the world, the most watched league is the PL. And Refs are earning 70 grand a year. Players on 400 grand a week. The refs get pelters from all sides, Press, Clubs, Players, Fans, and they'll just stand around honourably and not take a backhander!? Anyone who believes differently is living in cloud cookoo land.
