They're probably the 2nd worst side to qualify for the finals overall.......and now they've been through the ringer with injuries and extra time.

Always fancied England for a boring routine win.

          Possible over confidence incoming?

Denmark will be a tougher challenge. Shame it’s at Wembley.

Tougher alright, probably in a similar way to Sweden would have been tonight only they had a brainfart last round.
Danes are a great bunch of lads, effort-wise, but probably lack real quality up front to match up with their effectiveness in other areas, but to be fair, that effort has got them this far after most expected the wheels to come off after Eriksen.
I'd expect a tight, boring affair, but I'd probably go for England if a gun was held to me head.
              Especially with a home game.

England weren't great in the first half, and especially with the gift at the start, and settled into a dour pattern of play, but the second goal came at exactly the right time for them. Game was done and dusted.

The dour pattern of play is deliberate and is perfect for tournament football, when you have to conserve energy. You just can’t play with intensity all the time. What they showed though, is that they can crank up the gears when they want it. I still feel they’ve got 1 or two more gears in them, and their tactical disposition makes them difficult to score against. Only weak points are Pickford who is anything but someone who embodies calmness, and Stones who has a mistake in him. The youth in their squad is another plus points. Italy or Spain would be tough but they will give them a game, especially at Wembley.

Got to give a England props so far, but that Italian midfield/forward line will run rings around them I feel. If that is indeed the final..

Hendo looked up to speed when he came on, nice and tidy and a goal.

Hendo's pass completion rate must have been 100%.

                            Fair play to Southgate.

He had navigated England pretty well. The Germany win was huge and he seems focussed on staying calm. I think he might know what he is doing and seems to have the psychology of controlling and understanding the squad in a way that few of his predecessors have had.

I like him as a person, he seems like a really decent bloke.

I agree, he's a likeable guy. I don't get all the hate for him on here, it's bizarre really. If he was a bit of a cunt then I'd understand but he isn't.

Absolutely. Southgate seems to have a way of dissolving all the worst jingoistic excesses that normally surrounds the national team and just seems like a regualrtmanager that you can praise or criticise purely for football reasons. He's definitely cautious and also lucky but thats a great combination in tournament football.
