Yeah they looked lacking in every department. Shaqiri was abysmal.

      Same here.

That pleb Adrian Durham has tipped Italy. Apparently they were a machine in the qualifiers.

Locatelli looked class tonight. I remember watching him play at 16 with AC Milan and he was a great passer but built like a stick insect.

Didn't think he'd have the physicality to make it and perhaps neither did Milan as they sold him. Big mistake, think he'll go for a lot after the tournament or the year thereafter.

Dont know if this has been put up anywhere, but since it happens during the euros-

Christian Eriksen is to be fitted with a heart starter, Denmark’s team doctor has said. The 29-year-old midfielder had to be resuscitated on the pitch at Parken in Copenhagen after collapsing during his side’s 1-0 Euro 2020 Group B defeat by Finland on Saturday evening.

Morten Boesen said on Thursday: “After Christian has been through different heart examinations it has been decided that he should have an ICD [heart starter]. This device is necessary after cardiac attack due to rhythm disturbances.

“Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has moreover been confirmed by specialists nationally and internationally who all recommend the same treatment. We encourage everybody to give Christian and his family peace and privacy the following time.”
Thats basically him out of the sport. Very sad for him.

I guess being dead for however long it was will give him perspective, but it is a lot to take on board in a short space of time.

Hopefully he will speak to the likes of Muamba who can show him a way forward.

Coaching, punditry, post-match analysis...there's plenty for an ex-player to be doing to still be part of the game. Or he could just sit back and enjoy his millions with his partner and kids.

doesn't Daley Blind still play with an IDC? ...although admittedly he didn't first die on the pitch before having it inserted. That would be a major factor for retirement, I'm guessing.

Don’t think so. Daley Blind plays with something similar apparently.

will all come down to which club and insurance will take the risk if any will....Might be best to retire and be grateful for what he still has.

Didnt know Blind had one of these. Got to be worrying every time you go out though.

Thought it looked like a dive/minimal in real time. Well done ref making the call without VAR.

I doubt Erikson could play top level again without it being a big risk but if he fancies just playing for a a small club in the third or fourth tier in Denmark I am sure he will do just fine. Shame you don't go on your own terms but he may well just decide now is the time to enjoy the fruits of his labours a few years sooner than expected.

In some respects he's 'lucky' it happened when and where it did.
