Yeah he scuffed it, it took a slight bobble on the way otherwise I think Alison is saving it ( he got a hand to it).

I think Trent's was a much better goal than Haaland's - had more to do to get control of the ball and was a much better finish - Ederson got nowhere near it.

Why do we need to be under the radar? We are used to going toe-to-toe with City, we're used to being favourites every game and we've used this pressure to push ourselves to insane levels. The players themselves are talking about a title challenge, why shouldn't we?

We also have players used to getting smoke blown up their arses and hearing they are the best and they thrive on this. This will have a much more positive impact on the team that the OTT criticism some of our players receive. It was totally bizarre the narrative Neville and Carragher were trying to create, that the difference between us and City was a miscontrolled (poor) pass from Nunez and how that would cost us, even though it didn't. I guarantee if Nunez scored Haaland's goal, but missed the opportunity to finish the game with a chance from 6 yards, it would be the 6 yard miss getting the headlines and how that cost us 2 points.

More than any team, we seem to thrive on positivity and momentum, Klopp included. Likewise, when things go against us, this has a habit of snowballing and resulting in seasons like last year and 20/21. It just doesn't seem helpful that our achievements are constantly played down (haven't beaten anyone decent etc.) and any minor set back is a complete catastrophe (we're ****, top 6 side at best etc.).

Anyway veering off tangent a bit, the point is Neville is a knob and the sooner people get on the league winning bandwagon the better.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

          ****in right doggie!!!!!

I actually think teams will have a go against us when they think we are "top 5 or 6" as opposed to thinking we are genuinely Citys equals. Maybe? And that suits us better.

I do think that a strong December will make us all believe though

A big part of our title winning season was psychology, with teams thinking they are beat before the match even kicks off. Even if it got to 80+ mins even, the expectation was still that we'd score and teams would get nervous. Teams were happy to come away with a narrow defeat.

We are still a long way off that level of perfection and confidence, but we have the players to inflict a few hefty defeats and once we start doing that regularly, opposition teams will start to worry.

              Liverpool
              Points: +9
              Goals for: +3
              Goals against: -5
              Position: +5

Only behind Villa in terms of biggest improvement from the same stage last season.

I imagine but can't be arsed to check that this years fixtures were tougher too.

Having now seen it, it's clearly decent, but I was expecting something even better.

Like maybe a more vertical version of Sanchez goal for Mexico in the 86 World Cup.
                Likewise.

Shhesh, he's struck a clean overhead kick (no shinning it, eh Mr Rooney) from nearly 18 yards out, from a cross originating near the corner flag, and found the top corner of the opposite side of the goal, and you expected to see something better? Lord, some of you are hard to please.

It is an incredible finish. He has to take several backward steps right before he makes the leap. Then he catches it so clean, which is rare for an overhead. It is special.

It will definitely take some beating for goal of the season

Newcastle ****ed by a late pen awarded against them for handball. I’d prefer PSG to drop into the Europa than Newcastle ffs

100% even comparing it to other OHK's it is a cracker. Rooneys came off his shin.

It is about as perfect a strike as you will ever see (other than the kit of the guy wearing it).

He literally shoves him whether the GK overreacts or not it has to be a foul.

**** that, take that you time wasting ******

Seriously though, the ball is on the ground and in play, the striker has every right to challenge for the ball and it lead to some very minor body to body contact, not a push. Keeper takes a dive, striker scores. You love to see it.
