Southgate makes me so angry, just looking at him annoys me. Not because I care about the national team, but the sheer injustice of such an unqualified gimp being paid millions a year in a job he shouldn’t have. And everyone just carries on as if it’s normal. Meritocracy my arse.

I don't care one bit about England, I think international jobs are difficult because you don't get much time with players, but the flip side of that is the players are the finished article, you need a system that works and players who work with it. In short you need good tactical awareness and see how to fit a side together. For me Southgate doesn't have that, he did well with the U21s which suggest to me he is a better coach than manager. Probably deserved his chance at the main job off the back of that, probably the players have kept him in his job inspite of his tactics.

International manager jobs aren't as prestigious as they used to be very few of the best managers in football want to manage a national side. Southgate shouldn't be near a top job in club football.

All true but I do hope England do well enough to make United hiring him a viable option as it'll certainly be a car crash.
