The Police said it was a single car accident. This time of year, hitting a pothole hidden in a puddle could cause a blowout and loss of control. You don’t have to be driving like a dickhead, but ripping a wheel off would suggest speed is a factor.

Hope he is ok. The Fire Service had to cut him out - which will account for some of the damage, Twitter posts saying both lower legs hurt and a broken femur.
