Broadly though I agree with the stuff about the team. I don't rate Lingard, Sterling can't be relied upon unless you've got Pep extracting every last drop out of him, Alli is a strange player who gets goals without really otherwise affecting games, Walker's not a CB, Stones is extremely capable but erratic, Maguire a novice and debatable if he's good enough. I don't even rate Pickford.
But they look well-drilled to me and the spirit is undeniably great.
I'm going to the pub at 6 with a couple of mates who support City. **** it.

Not sure I can be arsed with Kane becoming a national hero or any of the brexit bravado that follows but would be good for everyone to have something to get behind. Germany and Spain have had more than their share.Comment

Read an article this morning about Swedish fans hurling racist abuse at one of their players (seems to be of Arab/MENA background) and about the surging far right there and in other Nordic states, also have felt Switzerland was full of racist *******s ever since that mosque controversy there years ago, so I’m not feeling either team atm. You will see that having accepted some of the largest immigrant population percentages throughout the EU they are now slowing down to properly integrate (make comfortably well off, healthly, educated/trained, employed/productive and happy) these people before going again. If only the other states were as open and supportive of migrants.
