Odd World Cup......how can a team as **** as Sweden be in the last eight ?
Only thing more ridiculous than that would be someone like Switzerland there.

You will see that having accepted some of the largest immigrant population percentages throughout the EU they are now slowing down to properly integrate (make comfortably well off, healthly, educated/trained, employed/productive and happy) these people before going again. If only the other states were as open and supportive of migrants.
Much like "Denmark ditches wind power" conveniently omits (Because they consistently produce about 25% of their energy and that's about all you can manage on a contemporary grid)
I didn’t say anything about the number of migrants Sweden has accepted, which is surely commendable. Doesn’t change the fact that Sweden player Jimmy Durmaz has received racial abuse from Swedish fans in this World Cup. I think that’s a fairly acceptable reason to not be that keen on Sweden as a neutral observing this match
Indeed, every country has idiot racists but, at least in the US, Nordic countries often get a pass for their own not-so-nice characteristics.
Anyway, think Sweden deserved to win in the end. Incredible defensive performance. Ugly but impressive.
Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa posted: "The cover of the @TheSun about Colombia is a disgrace... but true to form. It’s a paper not even worthy of being trampled on."
Not sure why Sarah's agent is worked up about it, but the sentiment is more than valid.

Just listened to the dumbest conversation ever between Shearer and Waddle on the radio about Harry Kane.
Featuring such wisdom as (Waddle) "he is the sort of player who knows where the goal is, put him any where on the pitch and he knows where the goal is".
Shearer followed it up with something equally obvious and dumb about his desire for scoring goals, but my brain was starting to prolapse.
It is all delivered as if they are revealing some ultimate wisdom, the result of millions of years of debate and thesis.
RTE really focusing on Henderson being on his todd in midfield. You can see it straight away in that lineup......bit of a gamble in many ways that could go one way or the other. James out is obviously a massive plus for England, but if England find themselves in trouble in midfield, that largely untested defence could be an issue.
Might be a few goals tonight.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Having been in the company of Chris Waddle on a few occasions, I think generating your quote is probably pushing the limits of his mental capacities as it is. Nice guy, but there's not a lot going on behind the scenes.
Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
England 1-0 up in the first half after a hurried clearance hits Sterling in the face and it loops into the top corner. We sit deeper and deeper in the second as we brown our shorts. Stones eventually gets sent off whilst giving away a penalty and Pickford channels Karius and throws it into his own net in the 90th minute. Doctors retrospectively diagnose trapped wind for the epic hand fart. Columbia win 2-1 and go on to win the tournament, whilst we dwell glumly on the best chance we've had in decades.
