I have seen it suggested in a couple of places that he rushed the second pen, supposedly with the first one the whistle went and he took a moment before running up, second one whistle went and he couldn't take it quickly enough, I don't know if this is the case as I wasn't watching, but adds to the suggestion he was nervous and not as controlled as he was with the first, maybe something to do with what happened around the pen, maybe not.

I watched and there was an element of that. There were a couple of delays and the ball needed to be respotted. He looked edgy and he did shoot straight after the whistle.

I can’t decide. The defender knocked the ball away from him leaving some pretty soft contact on the follow through. Don’t know where it stands with the current interpretations, maybe it should have been but I don’t think it really should have been tbh. The threshold for a free shot on goal from 12 yards should be higher than that.
