Syd, you must appreciate that it does and should make a difference that he's played for Man Utd?
It's not a major factor for me.

My concern is what's good for LFC. Beckham is better than most of our RM options and would have a positive impact on us, if we signed him.

        That matters more to me.

Do people have such short memories?

          Paul Ince anyone?

The similarities between them are obvious, both the wrong side of 30, looking for one last short at silverware, both ex-scum, both booted out by Demento, and most importantly they are both now past their best.

Then there's his wife and all the nonsense baggage she brings with her, do we want her teaming up with Alex Curren and Abi Clancy?, we all saw what the Wags did for England this summer past.

          So that's a no then.

Bet youd take RVN in a heart beat though. Or atleast I would anyway.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Looking at his return for Real so far, I would think he is not passed it yet.

Fair enough but if you look at his game now he is much more suited to Spain. In his last 2 season at Utd he was struggling as Fergiescum was changing their style of play and he could adapt to being anything more than a poacher. I think we are heading in that direction too with a faster, more hardworking team hence he is not right for us

I agree we should look to sign him, but dunno if he still has the merchandising appeal he had say 2/3 yrs ago. Players like Ronaldhnio/Henry/Messi/Gerrard and Eto'o seem to be the names/faces to be advertised.

Apparently was supposed to become our manager when he took the Man Utd job instead (they were doing much better than us at the time) so he recommended Shanks be the one to take us on. Also heard Shanks recommended Denis Law to Busby

From what I read in a Billy Liddell biography he was shafted by the board.

I don't want David Beckham, his vile wife, or any of the paparazzi bollocks that come with them anywhere near Liverpool FC. The two of them are nothing more than media hungry whores. If you've watched David Beckham play for the past 2 years you'll realise that he's not as good as he once was which means that he's no longer good enough for LFC.

                                Like a shot.

I think he'd be great on the right (better than Jermaine anyway!), his wages'd be covered by the Far East market buying his shirts & merchandise.

Plus it'd p*ss the mancs right off too.
