Didn't Beckham support Spurs as a kid (something to do with his grandad)?

With the amount of cash he's got already, i doubt an extra £2m or so makes much of a difference to him.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostHe supported them as an adult aswell, not just as a wide-eyed kid. IF he moved to us it would be purely a financial move for him. He's not interested in winning things for Liverpool, he's won all the domestic honours already. I want players who are hungry for succes, not just money.
Say what you will, but he's always come across as professional, determined and someone who gives his all.
You dont like him, which is fine. But it seems to be clouding your judgement on him as a player.
Cant be fecked to keep arguing this with you, so i'll leave it there.

Don't think so, I know he trialled at West Ham or something, but I'm fairly sure he's always been a scum fan. His favourite player was always Bobby Charlton.Originally posted by Reece View PostDidn't Beckham support Spurs as a kid (something to do with his grandad)?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Is that why talks over a new contract have broken down because Real want a bigger cut from image rights?Originally posted by DJS View PostWith the amount of cash he's got already, i doubt an extra £2m or so makes much of a difference to him.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

You seem to know a lot about him bearing in mind how much you "say" you hate him.
I think you are a secret fan of his....

John Arne Riise was a Man U fan as a kid and we all know about our famous ex-Evertonians. Ask Carra if he's not committed!Originally posted by DJS View PostIt doesnt bother me who the player supported as a kid, if they have the ability and a positive enough impact on the team, then i'd have them.
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

They never played for, nor had any association, with the scum.Originally posted by DJS View Post
And you think Shanks would've made a welcome banner for Bellamy or Pennant?

It's a fair comment but I think it changes when you have won every domestic honour in the game.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostJohn Arne Riise was a Man U fan as a kid and we all know about our famous ex-Evertonians. Ask Carra if he's not committed!
If Beckham came to LFC do you really think he'd be hungry to win things for us?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

One of Shanks' friends was a Man Utd legend. A former Liverpool player as it happens too. Not that this is relevant in the slightest, but in the spirit of stirring things up and getting people riled....Originally posted by lfc4ever View PostThey never played for, nor had any association, with the scum.
Syd, you must appreciate that it does and should make a difference that he's played for Man Utd?Like blood on iron

Apparently was supposed to become our manager when he took the Man Utd job instead (they were doing much better than us at the time) so he recommended Shanks be the one to take us on. Also heard Shanks recommended Denis Law to Busby
