Seems to be the murmerings i'm hearing from the boys at the Echo. Do you think this would be a good signing for us? I'm unsure, though, i do believe that in 5 years he COULD be the finished article.
I wonder how many posts Speedy will have before he's eventually banned?!
Sad thing is if you look at all the threads he starts, they all get loads of replies!
There's a "global ignore" option in the software apparently.....

I think a better analogy would be Bent = Saha mark II.
He is a very good player. The valuation is a bit weird and I'm not sure we would ever go for a big money but still a mostly potential based signing in January. Particularly when he is injured and Charlton may well get relegated.

West Ham United haven't shelved their interest in Charlton striker Darren Bent, despite his knee injury.
The Independent says the Hammers are willing to offer up to £12 million for Bent, who suffered a knee injury last week.
Charlton are understandably reluctant to sell Bent, given their relegation fight, and especially to one of their rivals for the drop, but are thought to accept that such a big bid may be difficult to resist and may also give their new manager, Alan Pardew, the funds to rebuild the team. However, that also has to be weighed up against the limited time he would have to do so.
Bent strained knee ligaments in the victory against Aston Villa, who have also shown an interest in him, and may be ruled out for up to a month. The extent of the damage will be assessed next week.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
The only way I could see Rafa make a move for Bent is if Bellamy is off and nothing points to that. Rafa wants different options upfront and both Bellamy and Bent are very quick players.
I think Rafa would even sign an injured Owen for £12m instead of Bent for £13.5m and I don't think Rafa is interested in Owen anymore.
Rafa will wait until the summer to sign a new striker IMO and he will then make a move for Villa and maybe another striker if Crouch leaves in the summer.

That was just an example to show that I believe the £13.5m thing is a non existing story.

Do you not think that is because people want to talk about what i say? I dont know what my position will be on the forum if Bent signs for 8 million up front rising to 13.5. Super moderator?
NB: This wasn't a proper reply, i wasn't furthering any speculation.
