Maybe you should take it in the context of the chat that was going on. It was a little retort to something Dan had said in reply to the post I made before that reply. And was not an insult to him, just as his remark prior to it was not one to me.


Nice try though, I'm sure you can trawl my posts and find comments I made, but then again, I am not claiming to be an angel. I am talking about insulting replies in a footy forum.

We have the chat forum and some of the other ones to get a bit lairy in, and have our rows/spats/fun/badger wetting in. Footy forums have always been spots where reasoned debate met banter, something this thread highlight is sorely missing.

Well said that man, the favourtism towards him is quite ridiculous imho. Liverpool fans pride themselves on being honest, straight up,
no messin about but yet when the Captain has an off-day like today and many, many other times this season especially in big games
you daren't criticise him.

Criticism is one thing but to level the accusation that he isn't fit enough to be the Liverpool captain on the basis of todays performances stinks of ignorance on your part. And then to try and back it up with BS statistics from games were nobody performed is just unreal. JC made a very unusal error that lead to the game being killed off. Should we strip him of the vice captains armband too?

I'm sure you were singing his praises in May 2005 and likewise in the FAC Final. So please, constructively criticise and stop trying to be controversial and look for the reaction. Mark Lawrenson does it on the BBC and looks like a **** when he does it.

Now...I wasn't at the match...I was watching it with my 7 yr old son (who talks a lot in matches - about all sorts of random crap) and the missus seems incapable of going shopping, which she did during the match, without phoning home with unnecessary questions on things that I haven't a clue about (curtains this time....)

However, despite this, I managed to spot some lovely stuff from SG. I saw great commitment, skill and spirit.

He's never going to be perfect - no one ever is. But he's the best we've got - and it's unlikely that we'll ever get many better.

Sorry Mark but you are talking ****e on this one, Stevie did not have a bad game today but he was well marshalled by Gilberto, we kept trying the one-twos and quick passes in front of a back four which was well protected unlike ours.
Xabi played a lot worse than Steven as his passing was unusually poor. To suggest he is not fit to be captain is laughable andi wonder what your motivation is for starting this thread.
