I think Dean Ashton would make a good striking partner for Kuyt.
He's creative, a good finisher, a good target man the only problem I have with him is his lack of pace.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

I agree with you, but I think Kuyt would score more if the wingers were on fire, and he was played right "up top", rather than playing slightly behind Bellamy / CrouchOriginally posted by kopdan View Postwell its cear Kuyt is not an out and out scorer. He's a definate playmaker.
Dare I say it, Owen would benefit from playing right now.

Yeah, a fit Owen would fit in.Originally posted by kopdan View Postwell its cear Kuyt is not an out and out scorer. He's a definate playmaker.

Defoe then maybe, since he is quite similar?
But does he have enough flair and skills to create trouble on his own?--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

which makes him no good for us. We need someone who has the pace to benefit from Kuyt's hard work.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostI think Dean Ashton would make a good striking partner for Kuyt.

Bellamy is in the front right now."What's your favourite Beatles album then?"

We should have picked up Ashton & Hulse from Crewe together when we had the chance.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostI think Dean Ashton would make a good striking partner for Kuyt.

All of you probably know about my many post about Owen but this isn't about any Owen loving thing.
Owen fits in with everything that we are missing upfront. Pace, excellent in the box and is very clever on the pitch.
I doubt that Rafa will make a move for him again
yawn
owen wasn't even very quick when he last played.

I dont know how to put this and I really mean no disrespect.Originally posted by kopdan View Postwhich makes him no good for us. We need someone who has the pace to benefit from Kuyt's hard work.
Bellamy is in the front right now.
But this is pre investment thinking IMHO
These guys are all good players and some might do a good job for a top side but we are trying to overtake Man U and Chelsea. We need to be better on paper then Barca and Real.
We need to think bigger.

What happens when Kuyt is not fit?Originally posted by kopdan View Postwhich makes him no good for us. We need someone who has the pace to benefit from Kuyt's hard work.

I think Ashton would be a good option then.
I prefer Ashton to Bent, I think Ashton has a better technique. We need more than 1 striker, I'd like to see Ashton as one of them.Originally posted by Gordon Brown
