This one gets wheeled out about once a fortnight. Wright Phillips is no good. That's all there is to it. He's more suitably linked with Portsmouth, West Ham etc, which is his true level. He's been hopless at Chelsea, so why would he be good for us? He's a headless chicken, can't cross and has no end-product to his game.

I'd say he's less of a gamble than someone who hasn't ever prospered in the Premiership.
so much so, i'd pay £20m

he's class and looks like Gary Coleman

which in itself is a bonus

Sounds like you never watched him play for Man City. I saw quite a few end products flying into the net.

He had plenty at City. Short memories.

Whether he'll ever get back to that again is another matter.

Could be genius - he certainly looked like he was going to be when he was at Citeh

If, however, I was given a choice between signing SWP and Lennon, I would choose Lennon
Hmmm not sure on this one. If we could purchase SWP and he could produce the form he did at Man City, I think he would be a better choice than Lennon. The main reason being, he is a player who has the potential to reach double figures in terms of scoring goals. Lennon can't shoot for **** but I think Lennon would be better at breaking down defences/ teams that sit back - most teams do against us, not just small teams but clubs including Arsenal.

I'd take him at £10 mill and secretly I think he wants to join us - remember what his step dad Ian Wright said a few years back?

Silly question IMO, he's class and once his gets regular football again, he'll show it.

There are 4 superb wingers in the Premiership at the moment, the scum have one, spurs have one and Chelsea have two.

We need one more than anything else.

Spot on between the two there.

However, can we really afford to take another gamble on our wingers? Haven't we been caught out this year by the same lesson, should we now be looking for players that are ready from day 1 of the season? We can't afford another slow start for sure.

never rated him massively. Would prefer Micah.

can't believe he is linked with chelsea. why would he go there looking at SWeeP.

I have never seen the big thing about SWP myself either.
Quick off the mark, nimble footed with a decent shot, but smaller than small, weak and not much of a crosser from what I have seen. He just doesn't ooze of class to me.
When you sign someone with such physical deficiencies imo, he needs to be very good. I am talking Aimar or Messi class.

Id take SWP for sure..he was immense for City, and he is still young. Chelski would never do business with us anyway though....so its a pipe dream

Signing a winger who isn't that good at crosses isn't what we need. Mind you having a tall striker who can't head the ball isn't much use either...
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

No. I would save the money and sign Alves instead. SWP is a good player but Alves is probably together with Ronaldo the best right sided player in the World.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Trouble is AF I think Alves will cost a lot more and Sevilla are top of La Liga. Can't see Alves wanting to move in all honesty.
