Its been a desparate week mate, no question.

Its hard to know what more to say about tonight, I'm still in shock to be honest. After Saturday's mess, I really thought we'd win tonight but at times it was embarassing. The ease with which they cut us apart was men against boys stuff.

In many ways it was similar to our FA Cup defeat against Burnley. For me Rafa has disrespected the League Cup tonight & in a way the club. LFC have a proud history in the League Cup, we've won it 7 times, more than any other club. If it was a worthy trophy for some of our very best sides to take seriously, then its certainly big enough for our current team to. I'm disappointed in Rafa tonight. Not because we got hammered but he has shown that at times he doesn't quite understand what LFC is all about. I thought after Burnley we would treat all competitions with the correct amount of respect. Tonight we didn't & got what we deserved.

That's very true mate. I can't belive someone who hasn't even see the match is in a position to tell us the we're over reacting.

You are spot on it was a quarter final match of a competition that we had a good chance of winning against a rival and we got spanked. It does matter it matters alot.

I wonder if he'd have been as dismissive if we'd won 6-3 or would he still have been saying that it didn't matter.

sure that would please me....but it wouldnt please me as much as beating them 6-3 in the league or 6-3 in the champions league.....of course you will be diplomatic and say "all Liverpool games mean the same to me" wont you

I'm gutted for the fans who went to the game, 30 quid for that spineless clueless feckless effort.
              They should be refunded.

                  Lets have a look at who played;

Dudek - No future at the club.
Peltier - Not a right back and played like it.
Hyypia - well past his best, a liability against pace.
Paletta - barely played, looked heavy to me, needs to go out on loan.
Warnock - has no future here.
Guthrie - played out of position.
Aurelio - would like to see him given a run.
Gerrard - no need to comment here obviously.
Gonzalez - He needs a run of games but why isn't Rafa using him?
Bellamy - I would take £9m without blinking.
Fowler - sadly past his best and all but gone at the end of the season.

                  Gerrard aside a mediocre bunch.

Our first 11 is of a reasonably good standard, albeit without the necessary guile, goals and skill in the final third to be title contenders. And our squad depth is pretty poor in all honestly.

The answer is to buy 5 or 6 top players, forcing the likes of Finnan, Pennant, Gonzalez, Crouch, Bellamy, Garcia, Riise and Aurelio to the bench. And have good youngsters fill out the rest of the squad.

Easier said than done of course, but hopefully the Arabs lend a hand on that front.

Of course I will because I support the team and want them to win every trophy that we can. I can't stand all this "stop over reacting it's only the Carling Cup" ****e. It matters. We lost heavily tonight and were emabarassed by a young Arsenal side and I'm as gutted and embarassed as I've ever been in recent times so don't tell me that it doesn't matter.

                          Just highlighted some remarks.
As for rafa being sacked that's overreaction
but nothing cup, i was hoping for one more visit to Cardiff, i like going Cardiff, i like finals
Yes we have bigger things to play for and we need confidence not 2 defeats at home hows that going to help us.
As for the kids, play them but with experienced players along side who'll help them.
Our kids know defeat Arsenal's have battered the unbeatable Liverpool at home. Which youngsters have the better chance of winning the PL?

to be honest though fella, i can see what you've done by saying most of those have no future, which i agree is true, but if we hadn't played them tonight, we literally would have had nobody to play.

probably 3/4 of those arsenal players are not first teamers, but also have a future at the club.

we've got huge huge depth and youth problems
