9 goals conceded and 2 straight losses AT HOME. This is not over-reaction! This could bring worse consequences, it definately dented the players confidence and also the fans spirits. Losing is NEVER ok! Rafa talks about the winning mentality, this kind of thrashing no doubt will not help in building that mentality. It tarnished the reputation of "fortress Anfield" we have worked so hard to build over the last 13 months, now all is gone to the bin.

Now this is a decent post.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostI can see it from Rafas perspective; League and European Cup are the priority. Want to rest players after taxing Christmas schedule. Arsenal were fielding reserve/backup players too.
The big mistake he did make was picking Dudek again after Saturday.
Colin's right. Had Reina played instead we certainly wouldn't have conceded at least 2 of their goals. Though the defensive unit as a whole was a shambles.
If anything it should open everyone's eyes (including Rafa's, especially his) to how far off we really are from being legit League contenders. Which could be a positive. Outside of the first 11, which also needs upgrading our squad/reserve players are very much mediocre.
Rafa made a cu/nt of it yes, but the biggest culprits were the players, especially the defenders and Dudek. I expect them all to be gone by the summer after that.

Did you go the match mate? Did you PAY to watch that ****e?Originally posted by Harveybirdman View PostReally people cmon...get some perspective here. Its the frigging Carling Cup. Ive seen some knobhead calling for Rafa to be sacked on 6CM
We played alot of youngsters, who dont look ready, but this is the perfect opportunity for them to play...a nothing competition. Sure they were shown up by the Arsenal youngsters, but it was bound to happen.
I had a feeling we would get smashed, and it turned out to be that way. Do i care? sort of...its not pretty to look at. But does it matter? no!
Why? because we have bigger things to worry about. namely Barca and catching Chelsea.
so sort your heads out and calm the **** down
Or did you sit comfortably in your armchair and watch it on the box?Liverpool born and bred.

I felt for everyone who was at the match. I had a couple of texts at half time from my cousin and a mate who were there and they wanted to leave as they couldn't bare watching a Liverpool side get humiliated as we were. I felt their pain but it must've been so much worse sitting there in the cold watching that ****e.Originally posted by Howard_lfc View PostDid you go the match mate? Did you PAY to watch that ****e?

It was surreal mate. I wanted to leave at half time also.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostI felt for everyone who was at the match. But take nothing away from Arsenal. They were superb. Their movement, athleticism and short inter-passing was a joy to watch...........but after a while like most good things it bacame sickly! IMO it simply reinforces that for me Wenger is the best manager in the league.Liverpool born and bred.

okOriginally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostLets have a look at who played;
Dudek - No future at the club.
Peltier - Not a right back and played like it.
Hyypia - well past his best, a liability against pace.
Paletta - barely played, looked heavy to me, needs to go out on loan.
Warnock - has no future here.
Guthrie - played out of position.
Aurelio - would like to see him given a run.
Gerrard - no need to comment here obviously.
Gonzalez - He needs a run of games but why isn't Rafa using him?
Bellamy - I would take £9m without blinking.
Fowler - sadly past his best and all but gone at the end of the season.
lets try this then
How many of those COULD feature against Watford at the weekend?
Fowler
Bellamy
Gonzalez IF fit
Garcia IF fit
Gerrard
Aurelio
Warnock
Hyppia
Carragher"What's your favourite Beatles album then?"
"I think I'd have to say....Best of the Beatles"

Bellamy and Gerrard were the only starters last night who are in our strongest 11.
Carra and Alonso came on to make it 4.
"Could feature" is not the right way about it to me.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

Is that because you knew we were going to get 'smashed'? (your words not mine) It's easy to be wise after the event mate.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Posti didnt watch it at all...you obviously haven't read the first 3 pages of this thread
Let me tell you it was galling having to sit through it. Everybody was getting more and more irate/frustrated as the game wore on to the extent that it became abusive towards certain players (Dudek and Garcia especially). In circumstances like those - an over-reaction is understandable.Liverpool born and bred.
