I've seen many captains at our club over the 30 odd years I have watched them

Some have been more vocal and visible than others

Hansen was a mouse who wouldnt lift players around him and who often let his head drop maybe we should have taken the captaincy off him as well?

Good teams are full of "captains", Gerrards attitude imo has improved no end over the last 18-24 months hes grown up a lot, taken on more responsibility. Maybe his head went down last night but looking at Dudek clowning around in goal I'm not surprised

If Souness or Smith had been on the pitch last night they'd have throttled Dudek does this make them better captains than Gerrard I'm not sure

Personally there is no reason to strip Gerrard of his captaincy, hes our best player, hes iconic and he has the backing of his teammates and the coaching staff. FFS the lad voluntarily offerred to give up the captaincy after the Champions League final yet neither the staff nor the players would hear of it

Maybe we should trust their judgement a little bit

I have to admit that it pisses me off when people bitch and moan about Stevie. He is never good enough, no matter how well he plays. No matter what he does. He's a **** captain. Take away the armband. Give it to Carra. Sell him. He's ****. Doesn't give all to the team. Hangs his head when losing. Has gone missing. Doesn't deserve to wear the red shirt. What a load of ****. I can't imagine what he should do to get everyone's approval. And if you have a minute read Paul Tomkins article on the offal site. He does a good job of putting things into perspective.

We'll see how good a manager Rafa is if/when DIC complete their takeover. There will be no more excuses for results like last night because he will be given all the tools he needs to do the job.
DIC,if they takeover, will make sensible decisions, Rafa will be given the time to prove he can do the job but if he isn't then they will replace him.
I don't want to see him go, he's a great manager, but I don't want to see anymore corners cut.

A good Captain should get the team up in difficult situations and you don't see Stevie do that enough IMO.

Neville is a good Captain, he shouts at the players all the time, the same can be said about Terry.
This whole concept of motivation is wrong in my opinion. It is Rafa's job to prepare the team and motivate them to a certain extent but there is also a responsibility for the individual to motivate himself.

You cannot motivate all people / players by screaming encouragement or abuse at them from the sidelines. Not everyone gets motivated the same way.

I'd like to see some of the players shouldering some responsibility here considering that, I'd have clattered one of their players last in the opening minutes to remind them they were going to have a fight on their hands - none of our's did that until it was too late.

The selection and tactics are Rafa's fault but the execution is down to the players.

As for sacking Rafa; well that makes no sense whatsoever, but there are always those that enjoy being controversial in the limelight aren't there...

He's agreat manager and i hope he gets the money to buy the players he wants in the summer so technically gifted players the likes of Aguero Kaka type players.

The bench i dont have any faith in the guy Miller doesnt give me much faith he just sits there no emotion. Having Paco gone last summer was a big blow.

I know its the players we are pissed off with but i hope he makes the bench stronger in the summer

Miller is ****, was an average player who evolved into a below average SPL manager, however he made it onto our coaching heirarchy I'll never know.

I'm not in agreement with the opinion expressed by one or two posters on that forum but then I'm not in agreement with everyone here, but I still visit here.

Your choice of course but there's more the world than Est for some and equally more to the world than 6CM.

How do you know what he contributes? I mean, I don't have a clue whether or not you're right to have such a low opinion of him but isn't there a danger of just looking for a scapegoat?
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
