Poyet - squad player at best.
    Crespo-didn't last a season.
    Gilberto I will give you.
Juninho was ****ing brilliant in his first spell at Boro, absolutely first class.

Poyet was a regular for Spurs and Chelsea and scored a shedload.
Crespo was very prolific for Chelsea, he just didn't fit in with Mourinho's game plan.
Such an ugly face, such an ugly mouth.

Personally I hope it goes through, I mean ye don't become a 1st choice midfeilder for Argentina by being crap do ye?

Another thing to consider is that the lad is probably gonna be itching to prove himself in the Prem especially after all that's been written and said about his and Tevez's move to the EPL.

          Argentina

Why is he an idiot ? He could well turn out a better player than Xabi, unless you have a crystal ball and you can see the future.

I think he just meant generally speaking.

I'd love him to come to Liverpool.

To the person who asked if we need another non scoring midfielder then I would say yes if they keep the ball up the field to people who can score more (All our strikers)

Liverpool take heart in loan plea
                      Oliver Kay
Liverpool are confident of securing a deal to sign Javier Mascherano on loan from West Ham United for the remainder of the season after sending a submission to Fifa’s legal department, complaining that the Argentinian is the victim of a restraint of trade.

Fifa, the world governing body, stated a fortnight ago, after a loan agreement was struck between the two clubs, that the deal could not proceed as Mascherano has played for two clubs, Corinthians and West Ham, since July 1 last year, and cannot play for a third. However, Liverpool believe they will be allowed to proceed with a loan move.

The Merseyside club have listed details of precedents involving Jérémie Aliadière, who went on loan from Arsenal to three different clubs last season, and Jon Stead, who recently moved from Sunderland to Sheffield United via a spell on loan to Derby County. These are not relevant as the Football League, unlike the FA Premier League, has an “emergency loan” arrangement in place with Fifa, but, despite Fifa’s public stance, a compromise is thought likely in view of Mascherano’s unusual predicament at West Ham.

Rafael Benítez, the Liverpool manager, said yesterday that “we believe we have a good case to appeal for the transfer to go ahead”, while Alan Curbishley, his West Ham counterpart, said he was happy to offload the midfield player, who has not figured for them since he took charge five weeks ago.

Yeah Mascherano is a ****ing good central midfielder. Couldn't be a regular in the Argie squad at such a tender age if it wasn't so.

As for South americans being unsuited to the prem...What a load of bollocks. The younger you get them, the better they should get. More time to settle.

How many Ukrainians have succeeded in the Prem? I can't think of any. Would that have put you off signing Shevchenko?(Though I probably wouldn't want him given his current record).

I wonder if anyone would've said no to us getting Aguero (if we had the $$$), or if we were after Ronaldinho or Adriano?

On another note, if we have the potential to get Masch, why couldn't we be looking at Carlitos as well? I havn't been arsed looking to see if he's staying at WHU or if any other super clubs are after him. But surely he would be exactly what we need?...
