So they were, I had skipped most of this irrelevant thread, just looking for "names".

Ah well, and you're right, there is no-one of Reina's age who is better, prob world wide.

        Alves, Simao, Bent

        Possible XI

        -----------------------Reina-------------------------

        Finnan--------Carragher-------Agger-------------Riise

        Alves----------Gerrard--------Alonso-----------Simao

        ----------------Kuyt---------Bent--------------------

        Plenty of other options:-

4-5-1 with Gerrard behind Bent or Kuyt with Momo in midfield.
3-5-2 with Alves as a wing back.
Having quality players on the bench such as Bellamy, Crouch, Hyypia etc.

Simao and bent are nothing special imo, and it was only players from the english league, not europe.

            Oh sorry.

I'll go for Lennon, Bent and a LW. (But can't think of one who I rate).

I like Bent. He is not world class, but he is a good all round striker. He can play upfront (effectively) on his own if necessary or with a partner. He has scored goals consistantly over the past two seasons in a struggling team. Can give us some more pace upfront, which we wlack when Bellamy isn't playing. I can't think of too many other strikers who are oll round and could be available. I also like it how he has proved it in this league, where we have seen others struggle, such as Kezman, Morientes etc.

Lennon is a cracking players, but I can't see him coming. I think the left wing is more of a priority as at least we have a top right sided option in Gerrard and a good back up in Pennant. On the left we can't rely on Kewell as he is rarely fit, Gonzalez isn't good enough to be first choice and we need some more quality in my opinion.

I'd like to see a top right sided player come also so we can see Gerrard central more often than not, rather than the other way round.

King for Agger! Surely you must be joking!

Nope Ledley King is proven quality, Danny is still learning, King is quicker and stronger and better in the air. Danny will be a great player but isnt yet.

King is over rated and Tottenhams defence is very inconsistant.

                    I tend to agree.
Look at their league position too.
Jol won't get another season if they don't start improving.

                      Aghbonlahoor - to replace fowler

Any of the following to replace pennant: lennon, bentley, milner, beckham on loan

Richards - but not to replace anyone, to cover all back 4 and cm positions and as a long-term understudy/replacement for carragher if he comes on.

any of the following as a squad player to play L or R midfield and improve our deadball delivery: solano, arteta, the young english lad from pompey that scores all the long range goals whose name ive forgotten.

The future you have, tomorrow, won't be the same future you had, yesterday.

Interesting that no-one has mentioned Mascherano

                              Agbonlahor looks good.
                              Maybe Yakubu
